Predictive maintenance is the discipline of listening for those signals and acting on them while the repair is still small. It is how we anticipate and resolve everyday issues rather than reacting to them, and it is one of the clearest ways a maintenance contract pays for itself.

The result is one view of each asset — how it is running, what it is costing, and when it should be renewed.
The cheapest repair is nearly always the one carried out on a machine that has not yet broken.
